I love planners, especially a brand-spanking new one. The promise of a new year, all of that blank space to jot down your dreams and goals, the crisp pages not yet tattered from a year\u2019s worth of abuse. Just thinking about it has me really excited to order a new one for 2017. And it\u2019s about that time of year to make a choice. <\/span><\/p>\n

For the last 2 years I\u2019ve used the Day Designer from Whitney English<\/span><\/a> and love it. This year, however, I\u2019m thinking it may be time to switch things up. Not because I\u2019m unhappy with my current planner, but just because I think a new planner can prompt entirely new ways of thinking about your year.<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to support a fellow creative entrepreneur, so I reached out to my Facebook groups to find some cool options. Here are my favorites. I haven\u2019t yet decided which I\u2019ll order! Here\u2019s hoping you are as inspired by these awesome designs as I am\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

The Refresh Weekly Planner<\/b><\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Jenna Murillo<\/a><\/span> has felt a sense of magic with paper since childhood (I totally get that!), and the idea of creating something beautiful from a blank canvas is what energizes her (yesss!). That\u2019s what led her to planner design. \u201cDesigning a product that\u2019s a stunning and functional tool for others to use and enjoy, was always a dream,\u201d she says. \u201cIn 2015, fueled by the encouragement of friends and family and a fire inside of me to create, I fulfilled that dream.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

The Refresh Weekly Planner ($39.95) is available in two patterns (I\u2019m partial to the pink plus design). The 2017 edition features a yearly overview, monthly layout, and horizontal, weekly spread with color-coded tabs for each month. The inside pocket, perfectly portable size, and built-in notebook with both lined and grid-style pages, makes this planner as functional as it is beautiful. The Rule the World Planner<\/b><\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Illana Griffo<\/span><\/a><\/span> decided to make a planner when she couldn\u2019t find one that fit her needs. \u201cAs a design student, I wanted a place I could doodle, take notes, and stay on track of my classwork,\u201d she explains. Her four-year-old planner has evolved to reflect her creative journey and her customers\u2019 needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"The<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rule The World Planner ($34) gives people a starting point to find focus in a distracting world. The design directs users to focus on the essentials so they can pursue their passions and crush their goals. The design includes budget pages, monthly goal setting and priorities, inspirational quotes, and coloring pages, plus you get access to extra printables to insert into your planner. The To-Do List Planner<\/b><\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Ashley Staum<\/span><\/a><\/span> says, \u201cYou don\u2019t choose your dreams, your dreams choose you.\u201d (Chew on that one for a while!) Late one evening while in grad school, Ashley\u2019s dream first whispered to her. To avoid studying for a few hours, she designed her own planner to stay on top of everything that on her plate. She fell in love with the process and continued to make her own planners each semester, and later for co-workers. \u201cHaving the chance to create custom planners allowed me the time to really learn what working women wanted out of a planner,\u201d she says.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

The To-Do List Planner ($48-56) has changed since it first launched in 2013, but the fundamentals remain the same. There\u2019s a weekly planner with a big blank space for your to-do list. The goal is to give users some structure to keep them on track, but also the flexibility and freedom to create systems that work for the way they like to plan. The Ashley Shelly Planner<\/b><\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Ashley Shelly<\/a><\/span> started designing planners soon after creating The Budget Notebook, her first official product, because customers asked for it and she felt the time was right. \u201cI\u2019ve been a planner user for years, but I always wanted to improve on the designs I saw,\u201d she says.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beth Nyhart<\/span><\/a><\/span> designed the Faith & Life Planner after becoming a stay-at-home mom and realizing just how much time she was wasting watching HGTV. \u201cI wasn\u2019t able to find a planner that helped me  <\/span>stay consistent with my daily devotions as well as planning my day or week, so I made my own,\u201d she says.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Faith & Life Planner ($20-25) is designed to keep you organized in your physical life and faithful in your spiritual life. It combines spacious daily or weekly planning with an entire page for writing out your Bible study, prayer requests, and even art journaling if that\u2019s your cup of tea. Goal Planner (printable)<\/b><\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Keeshaun Derima<\/a><\/span> creates printable stationery to help creatives and entrepreneurs plan more effectively. \u201cYou can\u2019t get to success without a goal, and you won\u2019t crush that goal without a plan,\u201d she says. \u201cI create actionable and detail-oriented planners so you can plan clear, concise, and smart goals you\u2019re able to continuously crush!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Goal Planner ($12.59) is available in baby pink and coral and has 15 page designs, including daily and monthly planners, a mind map, and sheets for quarterly and big goals. It\u2019s created with the suggestions, concerns, and requirements of the creative community in mind. This super affordable option can be printed without ever leaving home. The Mind Organiser (printable)<\/b><\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Amy Jones<\/span><\/a><\/span> is new to planner design. \u201cThey\u2019ve played a massive part in my journey of dealing with anxiety,\u201d she says. \u201cForward planning has allowed me to take some control back of certain circumstances that would make my anxiety flare up\u2014going to the supermarket, home finances, cleaning tasks.\u201d She hopes her planners will help others, whether they suffer from anxiety or not, regain control of their lives.<\/span><\/p>\n
