<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It\u2019s a toss-up; <\/strong>QuickBooks is an industry leader in accounting software and financial reporting, while HoneyBook will give you more reports around your business activity and conversions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HoneyBook<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>HoneyBook offers several reports to provide insights on things like:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Monthly bookings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Booking rate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collected payments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outstanding payments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refunded payments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead sources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the day, it\u2019s not an accounting software, but I do <a href=\"https:\/\/help.honeybook.com\/en\/articles\/2209038-quickbooks-integration-overview-faq\">integrate with QuickBooks<\/a> to get more information on my finances for tax season. HoneyBook\u2019s reports are broad and relate to more business aspects than finances (like lead sources), but it could be more helpful to have greater customization.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though you can select a specific time frame to view each report, it is a bit limiting that you can\u2019t customize any of the reports.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Premium HoneyBook users can also access team member and client reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">QuickBooks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting with the good side of <a href=\"https:\/\/quickbooks.intuit.com\/learn-support\/en-us\/help-article\/report-management\/run-reports-quickbooks-online\/L7aILHhbl_US_en_US\">QuickBooks reports<\/a>: It provides all the financial reporting that most small businesses need. For example, you can pull profit and loss statements, income statements, and other <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/hbbadmin.dev.reliablepenguin.com\/blog\/5-annual-financial-reports-update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"financial reports\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3991\">financial reports<\/a> that show you how your company is progressing. You can even build a balance sheet and cash flow statement. And those reports are generally easy to read and understand.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, QuickBooks is an accounting platform at its core, not a CRM or project management tool. While it offers project management features, there\u2019s no reporting outside of the financial reports it provides, even when using the highest tier of service.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The good news is that where QuickBooks is lacking, it often offers integrations to fill the void. That\u2019s the case when it comes to reporting. You can incorporate more of your brand and connect your invoices with other actions as well, like scheduling and contract signing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HoneyBook<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As soon as you create a HoneyBook account, you have access to <a href=\"https:\/\/hbbadmin.dev.reliablepenguin.com\/online-invoices\">invoice templates<\/a> that are easy to customize and use\u2013whether you need a general invoice or a version that\u2019s built specifically for your company type.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like HoneyBook\u2019s other templates, you can edit your <a href=\"https:\/\/hbbadmin.dev.reliablepenguin.com\/templates\/category\/invoice-templates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">invoice templates<\/a> or build from scratch using a drag-and-drop editor that supports text, video, and images. I was able to easily incorporate my company brand to make sure my invoices were personalized.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best part about HoneyBook invoices is the ability to include other actions, like service selection, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/hbbadmin.dev.reliablepenguin.com\/blog\/contract-signing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"contract signing\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3987\">contract signing<\/a>, file upload, questionnaires, and scheduling. If you decide to customize your invoices, you can change themes, colors, fonts, and more to align your invoices with your brand image. And your customers can pay your invoices as soon as they receive them with built-in online payments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not to mention, QuickBooks offers all the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/hbbadmin.dev.reliablepenguin.com\/blog\/invoicing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"invoicing\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3984\">invoicing<\/a> features you might need. QuickBooks has slightly lower transaction fees, but HoneyBook gives you the option to combine payment processing with other actions, like scheduling and booking. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HoneyBook<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With integrated <a href=\"https:\/\/hbbadmin.dev.reliablepenguin.com\/blog\/honeybook-payment-processing\">payment processing<\/a> in your invoice templates, HoneyBook makes it faster for you to get paid. In fact, 90% of HoneyBook invoices get paid on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through HoneyBook, I accept credit card and ACH payments and enjoy some of the lowest transaction fees in the industry, starting at 2.9% + 25\u00a2 for cardholder-entered payments. For reference, PayPal\u2019s cardholder entered fees start at 2.99% + 49\u00a2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the integrated payments are helpful for me, I could see that some may not like the inability to choose their own payment processor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing I really love about HoneyBook is that you don\u2019t have to chase payments. You can turn on automatic <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/hbbadmin.dev.reliablepenguin.com\/payment-reminders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"payment reminders\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3986\">payment reminders<\/a> and autopay, along with late payment fees for clients who pay past their due dates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For greater organization, HoneyBook also enables you to track payment statuses in one place. Plus, view your profit and loss and get greater accounting insights with a seamless integration to QuickBooks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">QuickBooks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/quickbooks.intuit.com\/payments\/\">Payments<\/a> are another area where QuickBooks shines. The company offers automatically integrated payments. That means that when you <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/hbbadmin.dev.reliablepenguin.com\/blog\/how-to-send-an-invoice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"send an invoice\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3992\">send an invoice<\/a> to a customer, the customer can click \u201cPay Now\u201d to pay the invoice online through QuickBooks. And the fees to accept payments are reasonable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>QuickBooks accepts a wide range of payment options like credit cards, ACH payments, and many online wallets. The only downside is that you have to start an email thread in your HoneyBook account, so it won\u2019t pull in all of your emails in your inbox.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From there, you can leverage HoneyBook email templates to save time, set up automated emails at key moments (like after a lead inquires), and even use HoneyBook\u2019s AI Composer to quickly send messages to leads and clients that fit your tone and voice. I personally love setting up email automations for my inquiries to make sure I respond quickly and save time providing information to them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though I didn\u2019t set one up, you also have the opportunity to create a branded client portal that clients can use to view communications and files in one place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">QuickBooks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>QuickBooks does offer some <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/hbbadmin.dev.reliablepenguin.com\/blog\/effective-communication-with-clients\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"client communication\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3990\">client communication<\/a> features, but those features are limited. In particular, you can sync Gmail and other email providers with the platform so the reply-to email address associated with your invoices and other communications is your own.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, however, that\u2019s where the platform\u2019s communication features end. If you price your services by the hour, the time tracker enables you to stay on top of your working hours, then easily create an invoice directly from your tracked time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though the app is robust, I find it to be more of a companion to the desktop site since it doesn\u2019t offer all of the same capabilities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">QuickBooks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything happens on the go these days, and it\u2019s important that the tools you use for your business offer mobile capabilities. This is one area where QuickBooks doesn\u2019t disappoint.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The platform offers a highly intuitive mobile app that you can use on Apple and Android devices. In fact, I wasn\u2019t able to find a single feature that I could access on the desktop app but was unable to access on the mobile version of the platform.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my experience, the platform\u2019s features were just as easy to find and use on the mobile platform as they were on the desktop version. And while I didn\u2019t need to contact customer support often, I wasn\u2019t pleased with the support I received when I did. It seemed as though I was constantly given the runaround and met with more questions than answers.
